Menstrual Bleeding That Does Not Exceed 10 Days

Changes in a woman’s menses

A woman’s monthly period changes in two ways:
1. Bleeding that exceeds 10 days in the current month,
2. Bleeding that does not exceed 10 days in the current month.

Bleeding that exceeds 10 days is divided into two categories:
1. Her current days of bleeding that concur with her previous menstruation period,
2. Her current days of bleeding that do not concur with her previous menstruation period.

When these rules are learned, the basics of menstruation will have been learned.

Rule: When a woman who has a certain length of time for her menstrual period experiences 10-day-long bleeding or bleeding less than 10 days for one time only, her pattern of menstruation changes. The number of the days she has menstruation is considered her new norm of menstruation.

For example, if a woman whose norm of menstruation is 6 days bleeds for 8 days the following month, her norm of menstruation will increase to 8 days. If she bleeds for 10 days, it will increase to 10 days. If she bleeds for 5 days, her norm of menstruation will decrease to 5 days. If she bleeds for 3 days, it will decrease to 3 days.

If the number of her days of purity changes, provided that it does not drop below 15 days, it does not affect her menstruation period. That is, the number of her days of menstruation does not change.

Examples:

1. A woman has a habit of 24 days of purity and 6 days of menstruation. If she remains free from menstruation for 24 days and then bleeds for 10 days, the number of her days of purity does not change, but her norm of menstruation increases to 10 days.

2. A woman has a habit of 24 days of purity and 6 days of menstruation. If she remains free from menstruation for 24 days and then bleeds for 9 days, the number of her days of purity does not change, but her norm of menstruation increases to 9 days.

3. A woman has a habit of 24 days of purity and 6 days of menstruation. If she remains free from menstruation for 20 days and then bleeds for 8 days, the number of her days of purity decreases to 20 days, and her norm of menstruation increases to 8 days. That the number of her days of purity has changed does not affect her menstrual period.

4. A woman has a habit of 24 days of purity and 6 days of menstruation. If she remains free from menstruation for 23 days and then bleeds for 7 days, the number of her days of purity decreases to 23 days, and her norm of menstruation increases to 7 days.

5. A woman has a habit of 24 days of purity and 6 days of menstruation. If she remains free from menstruation for 24 days and then bleeds for 6 days, neither the number of her days of purity nor the number of her norm of menstruation changes. Her norm is 6 days.

6. A woman has a habit of 24 days of purity and 6 days of menstruation. If she remains free from menstruation for 26 days and then bleeds for 6 days, the number of her days of purity increases to 26 days, but her norm of menstruation does not change. It is 6 days.

7. A woman has a habit of 24 days of purity and 6 days of menstruation. If she remains free from menstruation 19 days and then bleeds for 6 days, the number of her days of purity decreases to 19 days, but her norm of menstruation does not change. It is 6 days.

8. A woman has a habit of 24 days of purity and 6 days of menstruation. If she remains free from menstruation for 24 days and then bleeds for 5 days, the number of her days of purity does not change. Her norm of menstruation decreases to 5 days.

9. A woman has a habit of 24 days of purity and 6 days of menstruation. If she remains free from menstruation for 18 days and then bleeds for 4 days, the number of her days of purity decreases to 18 days, and her norm of menstruation decreases to 4 days.

10. A woman has a habit of 24 days of purity and 6 days of menstruation. If she remains free from menstruation for 32 days and then bleeds for 3 days, the number of her days of purity increases to 32 days, and her norm of menstruation decreases to 3 days.
